Collecting Donations

Posted on November 9, 2011

In the past years the AHS Swim & Dive team has held a collection at the first meet to benefit a worthy organization. This year we would like to collect toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo etc..)  and cold weather garments (hats, scarves, gloves) at our first swim meet to be donated to a local homeless shelter. Please consider donating an item two!

Volunteers

In the next several days you'll be hearing form our meet volunteer and social coordinators. Please consider helping this first week. But, if we have to turn you away, there are many meets ahead and more opportunities for you to share your time and/or cooking/shopping talent.

Swim & Dive Social

Posted on November 8, 2011

When: Saturday, following swim meet

We will be kicking off our swim season with a pasta party immediately following the swim meet.  Parties are hosted at different homes or club houses and you will be receiving an email each week as to the location and what food is needed.  This week we want to thank the Stacy Family for graciously opening up their home for this event.  Please see directions below to get to their home from the high school.

To make these parties successful we need parents to sign up to bring food.  We have a Wiki that everyone can read/edit to sign up to bring food so everyone can easily see what is still needed in real time, and we don’t have to do the emails back & forth.  Simply go to WiKi Swim Parties and hit the “EDIT” button, then type your name in place of the “Your Name Here”.  Then hit the “Save and Close” button (no signup or login required).  Please deliver your food to the Stacy’s on Saturday anytime between 12 pm and 4 pm. For parents of new swimmers and divers:
    ·  Every weekend there is a meet, a social will occur as well.  These are encouraged and well attended by the student athletes and coaches. Your athlete is not required to attend, but probably won’t want to miss out on the great food and social time.
    · ALL students must ride the buses from the high school to the meet, so be there on time!
    · ALL students must ride the buses back to the high school after the meet. Parents will pick up their student athlete at the school unless carpooling or driving themselves.
    · PLEASE note that the socials are non-school functions so there is no transportation provided.

Please contact Susan George at georgega@bellsouth.net with further questions regarding the social.
