Highlights of the meet!
The meet started off with a fantastic race between our Men’s 200 Medley Relay and Chattahoochee’s team.  We came up just short but we gave them a race!  Some really fast splits: 24.81 Patrick, 29.36 Jacob, 24.49 Ryan and 22.18 Cody!  Our B relay of Conner Kocks, Justin Stubel, John Durham and Trent Lusby took 3rd over the A relay of South and all other B’s, C’s and D’s!!!
That takes depth to pull that off!

Our ladies won a tough race against Chattahoochee and won by: 02.  Way to go Morgan, Emily, Jaclyn and Danielle.  Our B, C and D relay took 3rd, 4th and 5th!!!!  Very impressive!

The 200 Free was an awesome race with Cody taking control and holding off two of the Litherland triplets that Chattahoochee threw at us!  They thought they would stack the race and take 1st and 2nd and Cody was not playing that game.  His time was a very impressive 1:43, no fast suits, no rest as he just anchored the 200 Medley relay, no taper, morning workout, etc….  Awesome job Cody!  Trent had a nice race going under 2min and Zach Thorne dropped another 2 seconds in the event!

In the Women’s 2Free Danielle took control at the 100 and pulled away for the win.  We also took 3rd, 4th and 6th!  Kelly Hogan just missed the state q by :01.12, followed by Megan Cave and Emily Buckingham.

In the 2IM Ryan Loushin got in there to split up Hooch’s attack and took 2nd! And Jay Wellman followed for 4th and they both got state q’s too!  Alex Evonsion got in for 6th and Kevin Adam hung on for 7th.  It was a great finish by Alex and a very impressive 175 for Kevin; we’ve got to work on the endurance for the finish of the 200.

In the 2IM for the ladies Emily O’Brien came back in the breast and was just touched out and finished 2nd along with qualifying for state.  Sarah Johnson was 4th and missed the state q by .46, urgh!!!!
Additional placements by Elizabeth Faucher 6th and Brooke Beisner 8th.

The Men’s 50 Free was a splash and dash with Patrick taking 2nd in 23.19 and Max Lee at 23.46 for 3rd, both state q times.  We actually took 2nd – 5th!  Justin and Conner were right behind Max.
Great job boys!  Cal Swanson had his first swim of the season!  Welcome to Cal, we are glad his hand is healing and I’m sure he’s tired of kicking for a month!

In the Women’s 50 Free we took 3rd, 5th – 7th.  Good job Jaclyn, Peyton, Kirsten and Sarah Feehan!

Ryan Loushin had his second state qualifying swim in the 100 fly and won easily.  With our depth the boys took 4th, 5th and 6th as well.  Good job John, Austin and Kevin!

We also won the women’s 100 fly with Danielle’s second win of the night and second state q too!

The 100 Free was another really close race with 1st thru 3rd all going 51’s.  Jacob Saban took 2nd with a state q and Trent 4th, Jay 6th, Zach 8th and Eric Nolfa 9th.  Warren Cherry has a very impressive 59.86, I think that is a PR too?  He was 12th out of 29.

Morgan took the 100 Free by a touch!  Actually winning by .01!  She was first in 55.67.  Our strong ladies team took 4th thru 7th, Peyton, Kelsey, Megan and Lily.  Then we continue with 10th – 14th, Kirsten, Meredith, Caitlin, Katie and Lexi!!!!

Another great race was the 500 Free.  Cody beat Kevin Litherland for the second time tonight.  The two of them were synchronized swimming and then Cody started to move up slightly and took it in to the wall going a mere 4:42.51!!!!!  Smokin’ fast folks!  Max Lee came in 3rd and Bowen and Troup took 9th and 10th.

Kelly Hogan was our first lady in 3rd and Megan, Lindsay and Emily all scored taking 4th, 5th and 7th.

We won the Men’s 200 Free relay with impressive splits of 23.77 Max, 24.02 Justin, 23.55 Jacob and 23.96 Jay.  The B relay was moving out with Austin going 26.66, Conner 24.65, Eric Nolfa 25.38 and Zach Thorne 25.82 to take 3rd.

The ladies 2 Free relay was really close but they just got touched out for 2nd.  Good job Kelly, Peyton, Emily and Sarah Johnson.  Our b relay took 4th, C was 5th and our D was 6th!!!!

Patrick had another tight race in 1 back with Jay Litherland but went an impressive 54.90 for 2nd.  John Durham got in for 3rd but still just missed the state q by 1.92 and Conner had a PR swim in 1:05.98 and 5th.  Eric Nelson got in for 7th.

Morgan Lyons had her second win of the night but this one wasn’t nearly as close winning pretty easily.  Our ladies were tough taking 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th.  Lindsay, Brooke and Kelsey.

Jacob and Justin had good swims in 1 Breast taking 2nd and 4th.

Our ladies took 1st and 2nd in 1 Breast and both with state q times.  Congrats Emily and Jaclyn!  Colleen and Jane took 5th and 6th in another close race with each other?!

Our Men’s 400 Free Relays took 2nd and 3rd giving us the edge to win the meet!  Patrick and Cody both split 50’s and Jay and Ryan 52’s.  Max also split a 52 on the B relay!

The ladies finished off the night with an impressive win and then 3rd, 5th and 6th.  Nice job ladies!!!

It was a great way to go in to our holiday break.  Everyone MUST swim over the break.  Bathing suits, cap and goggles are easy to pack!  If you can’t swim go for a run!  Don’t waste all your hard week for the past two months!  If you are here make it to our practices!

Thank you to the Buckingham’s for opening their home to our team and for the wonderful eats provided by both the Cherry and Buckingham families!  It was soooo good!  I think everyone enjoyed the gift exchange with some interesting gifts!

Good luck on your exams and Happy Holidays!  Be safe, stay active and healthy!
