TRI MEET RECAP - Brookwood/Parkview/AHS meet 11/19/11
It was a night of realization that we are in a rebuilding year as we took on top Gwinnett County powerhouse teams of Brookwood and Parkview. Our young team gave it their best shot but came up short with 3rd place finishes for the boys and girls team, but in our own way we made it interesting by somehow scoring the exact same score for boys and girls of 156 points. While we had some of our top swimmers at the meet we were missing many to the Dynamo Woodie B. meet and these two teams were at full force. So, with that being said we aren’t too far behind with such a young team.
Scores:
Boys:
Brookwood 271
Parkview 216
Alpharetta 156
Girls:
Parkview 284
Brookwood 204
Alpharetta 156
Autographs anyone???? One of the meet referees approached Cody, Morgan and Jaclyn for their autographs. Allen gave him one last year and it seems to have been a good omen for him so here’s wishing the 3 of you the same.
State Qualifiers:
200 Medley Relays both the boys and girls qualified. The teams of Conner Kocks, Justin Stubel, John Durham and Cody Reul in 1:48.51 and the ladies team of Lindsay Hogan, Jaclyn Rohal, Peyton Carrington and Morgan Lyons in 2:00.09. Cody anchored the relay in a split of 22.46 and Morgan with a 25.04. Nice job relay teams!

The ladies team of Megan Cave, Kirsten Scanlon, Sarah Feehan and Kelly Hogan qualified in 1:53.16. There were some very solid swims by all of you tonight on the relays.
400 Free Relay had just one qualifying team of ladies: Jaclyn who led off in 57.48, then Kelly Hogan, Peyton Carrington and Morgan Lyons with an anchor swim of 58.90 and a time of 3:55.95 and 3rd place.
Individual State Qualifiers:

Peyton Carrington in 200 IM

Peyton Carrington 100 free by .34

Highlight swims:
Freshman swimmers Kevin Adam splitting a 28.33 fly on the Medley relay and Zach Thorne with a 25.91 anchor swim on the medley relays. Kevin was last week’s Captains Award winner for the boys and he carried that in to this weeks meet.
Mariel Rico’s 31.16 fly split on the medley relay.
Cody Reul’s 1:46.36 200 free for the win when he’s tired.
Same with Morgan Lyon’s 200 free 2:02.14. I know they both go faster but with no taper and long practice days they did great.
Jaclyn Rohal’s 2IM win in 2:14.54 and Peyton Carrington getting her SQ at the first meet of the season vs. the last!!!!
Team Captain Justin Stubel’s PR in the 100 Free of 54.69 and our top scorer in that event.
Troup Ackerman, Christain Campbell and Warren Cherry all close to going under a minute in the 100 Free! Brandon Young in his first year swimming going a 1:03.34 in the 100 free. All of you will get under a minute this season!
Cody Reul’s 500 free of 4:43.27, again not his best but when the SQ is 5:20, very impressive swim.
Trent Lusby just missing in the 50FR the SQ. It will come just have to pace it out differently next time.
Freshman Kelly Hogan taking 3rd in the 500 Free in 5:47, the SQ is 5:40. Go for it Kelly.
Kevin Adam splitting a lead off 26.62 on his 2Fr relay!
John Durham with his strong 3rd place finish and just missing SQ swim in the 100 back.
Morgan Lyon’s with her close 1st place finish in 100 back and her time would’ve placed her 3rd in the Men?!
Justin and Jaclyn’s 100 Breast races and results were impressive.
400 Fr relay splits of 56.34 by John Durham and 55.55 to anchor by Eric Nolfa and the freshman again of Kevin Adam and Zach Thorne going 59.97 lead off for Kevin and 58.61 anchor by Zach. Nicely done boys!
