Weslyan Meet Recap (12/09 - 12/10/2011)

While we were missing a majority of our top swimmers due to the Senior State meet and Junior Nationals all the teams were at full force.  So, with that being said we aren’t too far behind for a rebuilding year.  Oh yeah, Lisa was missing this weekend as well.  So, flying solo and missing many top swimmers made for an interesting weekend at Wesleyan. State Qualifiers
200 Medley Relays both the boys and girls qualified.  The teams of John Durham, Justin Stubel, Max Lee and Cody Reul in 1:46.44 and the ladies team of Lindsay Hogan, Peyton Carrington, Mariel Rico and Kelly Hogan in 2:07.62.  Cody anchored the relay in a split of 22.26.  Way to go relay teams!
Boys 200 Free Relay qualified as well.  The boys team of Conner Kocks, Zach Thorne, Trent Lusby, and Justin Stubel in 1:37.14 with a nice finish by Justin with in 24.15.  Way to take charge of the underclassman Justin!! 

400 Free Relay had just one qualifying team of boys:  Max who led off in 52.12, then Conner Kocks, Trent Lusby and Cody Reul with an anchor swim of 47.41 and a time of 3:31.22 and 2nd place.  If the pool was just 5 more yard longer Cody would have easily out touched Nick Saylers from Wesleyan.

Friday Night Diving Highlights:
Congratulations to our three divers!

Crawford Berry was 2nd
Eryn Greathouse placed 1st among the girls. 

Highlight swims Friday Night:
Sophomore swimmer Max Lee splitting a 26.33 fly on the Medley relay and Eric Nolfa with a 24.95 anchor swim on the medley relay.

Mariel Rico and Sarah Feehan both split the exact same fly split time of 30.46 on the medley relay.
Max Lee’s 1:53.95 200 free for the 2nd place finish after swimming at Senior State on Friday morning.
Zach Thorne’s PR in the 200 Fr and dropping 9 seconds.  See what happens when you swim on top if the water instead of under the water.

Kelly Hogan and Megan Cave looked like synchronized swimmers both the 200 free and 500 Free.

Conner Kocks and Justin Stubel’s fast turns in the 50 free.  Conner did not breathe into or off his turn.  Imagine that—What Lisa and I have told you at every practice.

Cody Reul’s win in the 500 free of 4:45.83, not his best but way under the SQ time 5:20, very nice swim.
Trent Lusby finally got the SQ in the 500 free. He finally figured out that trying to pace with Cody might not be the best option.
